Celebrate the Start of 2022 with Atlanta Restaurants

Atlantans have lots to celebrate this year. With a World Series win and the end of another rollercoaster year, what better way to cap it off than with Atlanta’s top restaurants. Over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, these eateries guarantee a festive celebration with special dinners, parties and brunches.


5Church Midtown is ringing in the new year with a not-to-be-missed dinner and party. Start New Year’s Eve with a four-course prix-fixe dinner with reservations available from 6- 6:45 p.m. for $80 a person; 7-7:45 p.m. for $90 a person; and 8-10 p.m. for $100 a person. Parties of four will receive a complimentary bottle of Champagne, and parties of two will receive a half-bottle of Champagne. Other festivities include a countdown and Champagne toast at midnight with a viewing of the ball drop. Make reservations online. New Year’s revelers also can ring in 2022 at 5Church’s New Year’s Eve Rooftop Party offering spectacular views of Atlanta’s skyline. This exclusive rooftop event will take place from 9 p.m.- 2 a.m. with ticket prices starting at $125 for the early bird special and $150 for all others. Tickets include a five-hour open bar, lite-bites buffet, DJ, live entertainment, midnight Champagne toast, Champagne tower, a countdown and more. Purchase tickets via EventBrite. Aria in Buckhead will be open and serving its regular menu on New Year’s Eve. Chef/owner Gerry Klaskala’s menu includes butter-braised Maine lobster, crisped duck confit, pan-seared sea scallops, slow-braised Berkshire pork and Black Angus filet mignon. For a menu of seasonal, chef-driven dishes, spend New Year’s Eve at Cattle Shed Wine & Steak Bar. The Alpharetta restaurant is featuring its regular menu in addition to food specials, wine flight and Champagne specials, a DJ and party favors. Chido & Padre’s transports guests to the colorful eateries of some of Mexico’s most celebrated food regions on New Year’s Eve when it serves its classic menu plus several chef features. The Buckhead eatery also will be open on New Year’s Day. Make reservations online.


Roll with laughter into 2022 with a New Year’s Eve dinner and comedy show at Cold Beer. For $75 per person, guests will enjoy a buffet dinner featuring deviled eggs, shrimp dip, pink-eyed pea falafel, Champagne fried chicken, beef tartar and cheesecake truffle; a comedy show from 1up Comedy at 9:30 p.m.; music from DJ Durrty Martinez; and a rooftop Champagne toast at midnight. For a New Year’s Eve with Spanish flair, settle into Gypsy Kitchen. The Buckhead Village restaurant is offering a classic menu with several over-the-top specials, a live flamenco guitarist during dinner and a DJ later in the evening, and a complimentary Champagne toast at midnight. Menu highlights include grilled berbere-spiced bone-in ribeye, shrimp arroz caldosa, seared duck breast and adana lamb köfte. Gypsy Kitchen will open at 5 p.m. bothdays. Before hitting the town for celebrations in Athens, Heirloom Café invites guests for a three-course New Year’s Eve dinner. The dinner begins with an amuse of sweet potato cake with kale, Napa cabbage slaw and lemon tahini sauce. Entrée highlights include Good Luck cassoulet with confit leg and thigh, roasted hakurei turnips and baby carrots, stewed field pies and turnip green gremolata; pan-roasted rockfish with lemon herb-roasted potatoes and broccolini, blistered cherry tomatoes with Kalamata olives, capers and fennel fronds; and beef tenderloin with sauce Diane, roasted garlic, goat cheese and truffle mashed potatoes, and sauteed kale and oyster mushrooms. Dessert options include chocolate semifreddo blackout cake and holiday trifle with gingerbread, roasted pears, white chocolate ganache, candied walnuts and whipped cream. Ring in 2022 with music and delicious tavern fare at HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern. The Brookhaven and Perimeter locations boast live music, a dance floor, party favors and their regular menus along with food specials, a Champagne flight and bourbon flight specials. The Halcyon location in Alpharetta is offering the same specials plus a DJ downstairs and a live band upstairs at HOBNOB HIGH UP for those 21 and older. RSVP here for the Halcyon location. Marlow’s Tavern ushers in the new year with a special New Year’s Eve prix-fixe menu. The meal begins with a first taste of New England-style Maine shrimp chowder or Tavern salad followed by the main course of Marlow’s surf and turf with grilled center-cut filet, grilled shrimp, crispy smashed Red B potatoes, tiny green beans and red wine demi reduction. For dessert, guests can choose between the warm chocolate cake or a holiday spiced martini. Cost is $49 per person.

Contemporary new Southern cuisine and a relaxed setting lure guests to Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails. The historic Crabapple restaurant is serving a three-course prix-fixe menu for $75 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) on New Year’s Eve from 5-10 p.m. Menu highlights include lobster bisque, oysters Milton, bacon-wrapped filet mignon, almond-crusted grouper and Cheerwine bundtlette for dessert. Set sail to Ocean & Acre in Alpharetta for a delectable menu of dishes from both the land and sea. The restaurant will be open New Year’s Eve starting at 4 p.m., serving a special four-course prix-fixe menu. Revival ensures guests start the new year off right with Good Luck meals to-go. The meal features a one-pound herb-crusted pork roast, a quart each of collard greens with smoked ham hocks, Carolina Gold rice and Sea Island red peas with bacon, and cornbread with honey butter for $60. The Southern Gentleman feeds festive partygoers with a special four-course New Year’s Eve menu for $79 per person. The meal begins with an amuse of whipped pimento cheese with piccadilly and black truffle followed by first course options including Carolina she-crab soup, BBQ foie gras and chicken-fried oysters. Among the main course selections are wagyu short rib, crawfish-stuffed flounder and crispy duck. The evening ends on a sweet note with a choice of bourbon pecan pie or double chocolate bread pudding.
