Cherish the Final Days of Summer with Labor Day Specials

Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, and Atlanta restaurants are offering a multitude of options to make the most of these final days. From brunches and wine specials to late-night dancing, these are our picks for enjoying the long weekend.


  • In Alpharetta’s City Center, Carson Kitchen invites guests for lunch and dinner on Labor Day. Menu highlights include social plates of crispy chicken skins and veal meatballs along with meals such as cocoa-espresso New York strip, barramundi with walnut romesco and white balsamic, and shrimp Louie.

  • Cattle Shed Wine & Steak Bar extends the weekend with Monday brunch service on Labor Day. From 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., guests can enjoy brunch specials along with menu favorites such as crab Benedict, classic French omelet, crepes and the Cattle Shed burger. Make reservations online.

  • Live music fills the air at Gypsy Kitchen on Sunday, Sept. 5. Guests are invited to linger a little longer while taking in live music along with the eatery’s sophisticated mix of traditional classics and modern-day Spanish cuisine along with creative cocktails.

  • Kick off Monday with brunch at HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern. The eatery—with locations in Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Halcyon in Alpharetta and Atlantic Station—is serving its regular brunch menu along with a selection of specials on Sept. 6.

  • Late-night dancing is the party plan at Johnny’s Hideaway. The iconic nightclub helps guests make the most of the Monday holiday by staying open late on Sunday, Sept. 5. Johnny’s opens at 5 p.m. with a $5 cover charge.

  • All locations of PITA Mediterranean Street Food are open on Labor Day Monday, serving irresistible fresh, made-to-order Mediterranean cuisine. Whether dining in or ordering to-go, PITA offers a variety of dishes including traditional and chicken gyros, street pitas, mezza spread, rice bowls, salads and desserts.

  • For delicious Italian fare and a wine deal, Storico Fresco in Buckhead is open on Monday, Sept. 6, serving its full menu along with half-priced wine all day.

  • In Buckhead Village, wine bar Storico Vino is open regular hours and luring guests with $15 wine flights on Labor Day Monday.

  • Can’t squeeze in that last beach vacation of the summer? Don’t fret, The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill—Atlanta’s favorite beach house—is open on Labor Day with specials for the whole family. Kids enjoy one free kids meal with the purchase of each adult entrée while the grown-ups take advantage of half off a dozen raw oysters from 4-6 p.m. and $5 glasses of select wine.

  • The Southern Gentleman—the Southern-inspired gastropub in Buckhead Village—is serving brunch all day, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6. Brunch menu highlights include fried chicken and skillet cake with bacon and maple syrup, avocado deviled eggs, brioche French toast and the house burger.    Reserve a table online.
