Kevin Gillespie’s Red Beard Restaurants Prepares 10,000 Meals in May for Meals of Love

A longtime dream to help the community has become a reality for Atlanta chef and restaurateur Kevin Gillespie. The Red Beard Restaurants owner has partnered with Keith Lewis’ nonprofit I’m A Father F1rst and the Meals of Love program to feed Atlanta Public Schools families affected by the COVID-19 crisis. When the crisis hit, Gillespie’s restaurants were forced to close. He had employees that were not able to serve food so he identified a population that needed their services. Gillespie and his team assemble over 3,500 meals each week and will continue the program and provide dinners once school resumes on Aug. 10. To expand the program beyond weekdays to seven days a week, Gillespie and Lewis are exploring additional income sources. Read more on ATL Dish, then follow I’m A Father F1rst on Facebook or Instagram and Kevin Gillespie on Facebook or Instagram for ways you can support the Meals of Love program.
