Petite Violette Offers Oktoberfest Dinner Menu Through October 31

Petite Violette, Atlanta’s family-owned French restaurant, is run by brothers of German descent. They combine their love of Escoffier-trained cooking with a taste from home, year-round, by including a few German items on their French and continental menu. Every October, the restaurant also offers a complete Oktoberfest dinner menu in addition to the regular dinner menu. This holiday menu features many traditional German and Bavarian appetizers, soup, entrees, sides and dessert, ranging in price from $10 to $36 (subject to availability).

The Oktoberfest appetizers, costing $14 to $19, include some classics from past years as well as two new selections: Brat and Pommes and Spaetzle Melt with Gruyere/Parmesan and Spinach. Returning favorites are Beef Goulash Soup and the MÖRNSHEIM Pretzel Platter featuring a jumbo pretzel served with salami, fleischwurst, spreadable tea wurst, pickles, radish and mustard.

Entrée selections, priced at $28 to $36, offer hearty portions of meat complimented by two side starches or vegetables. These gourmet main courses include the usual suspects plus one new item: Slow Roasted Caraway Pork and Dumplings. The other entrees are: marinated German Sauerbraten, pan-seared Wiener Schnitzel, sautéed Jaeger schnitzel, and the crowd favorite Bavarian Platter, featuring bratwurst, smoked wiener and slow-roasted pork.

Two sides accompany each entrée. The choices are: potato pancake, spaetzle, Bavarian dumpling, whipped potatoes, red cabbage, sauerkraut and asparagus.

Home-baked Apple Strudel with vanilla bean ice cream, priced at $10, tops it all off, for dessert. The entire menu is available Monday through Saturday nights at dinner (the restaurant is closed on Sundays).

Chef Anthony Gropp, co-owner of Petite Violette, says, “We’re excited for our loyal guests to try some new Oktoberfest dishes this year. We try to keep it fresh -- and always tasty -- around here. And the classics keep guests coming back, too. We welcome all for Oktoberfest!”
