Petite Violette Offers Special Crustacean Festival Menu May 3-18
Petite Violette, located at 2948 Clairmont Road, is offering a special Crustacean Festival menu nightly from May 3 through May 18. Available from 4:30-9 p.m., this special menu offers appetizers and entrées featuring fresh shellfish including lobster, crab, oysters, mussels and shrimp. Prices range from $18 to $48. The Crustacean Festival appetizer menu features: Mussels Marinière, P.E.I. mussels steamed with white wine, heavy cream and garlic; the New Orleans Oyster Sampler offering oysters prepared three ways: Rockefeller, Bienville and Casino style; and Crab Louis, jumbo lump crab meat with egg, tomato, crisp romaine lettuce and a tangy Louis dressing.
The entrée menu includes: whole, shell-less Lobster Américaine; Shrimp and Grits, plump shrimp sautéed in garlic herb butter and served with creamy parmesan and cheddar cheese grits; and Lobster Risotto, featuring lobster claw meat and tri-colored peppers.
Chef Anthony Gropp says, “We’re excited to bring back our Crustacean Festival Menu! Though we don’t serve this one every year like we do our limited-time Wild Game and New Orleans Food Festival ones, like to keep this in our rotation, as a special selection for our guests. We see many of our loyal guests every time we offer this, and hope to see many of them this time and when we celebrate our 50th anniversary in August, as well.”
