USA Today just announced Urban Tree Cidery of Atlanta as the winner in the 2022 USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Travel Award contest for Best Cidery in the country. After a panel of experts selected the nominees, readers then voted for their favorite cidery.

Since opening their doors in the spring of 2016, the team at UrbanTree Cidery has been busy fortifying the roots of good taste as Atlanta’s first cidery. Last week, their hard work and dedication paid off as they were named the best in the USA. “We are humbled and thrilled by this honor,” said Tim Resuta Co-owner and Cidermaker, at UrbanTree Cidery. “I am very proud of our entire team as everyone plays a huge role in the success of our company. Each award motivates us to continue creating the most authentic and interesting ciders to bring to our consumers. I can’t thank Atlanta and our fans enough for putting us not only on the map locally, but also now nationally. It is truly exhilarating to experience such incredible recognition.”

UrbanTree Cidery is Atlanta’s first cidery. All of their ciders are skillfully handcrafted, and each batch is fermented using specially selected yeasts. Each of UrbanTree’s ciders follows a recipe perfected over time and tested along the entire process to ensure premium quality.

“We take so much pride in each and every cider that we produce,” said Jackie Annise, Co-owner, Cidermaker, and Events Coordinator of UrbanTree Cidery. “Cidermaking is both a science and an artform that we take very seriously, but also have fun in the process. Over the years, we have perfected our recipes in crafting our core ciders and have enjoyed adding in seasonal ciders along the way.”

UrbanTree Cidery has become known for their award-winning core ciders which include: Harvest Apple, Wild On Cherry, Sweet Heat Haze, Orange U an IPA, and Blueberry. Other favorites include: Original, Classic, Orchard Brut, Sidra Urbano, Bottoms Up, FC (Fan Cider)– a tribute to Atlanta’s Soccer team, and a selection of ever-changing seasonals. UrbanTree is a family owned and operated cidery located in the heart of Atlanta on the Upper Westside. Husband and wife team (and avid cider drinkers) Tim and Maria Resuta came up with the idea for UrbanTree while abroad. They both studied at the Cider and Perry Academy in Gloucestershire, England under the direction of Peter Mitchell, a highly regarded, internationally recognized authority in the production of Cider and Perry. Maria’s sister, Jackie, embraced the idea for a family business immediately and received her cider certification in Portland, Oregon. Tim and Maria’s oldest daughter, Ali, graduated from college mid pandemic with a degree in Digital Marketing and returned to her hometown to work alongside her family. She is now the team Marketing Manager.

UrbanTree Cidery is located West Midtown at 1465 Howell Mill Road NW (30318). The Taproom is open on Thursday and Friday from 4-10 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30-6:30 p.m. UrbanTree ciders are for sale in the taproom as a flight or pint.
