Aria Presents a Buffalo Tradition: Beef on Weck, One-Day Pop-Up on Oct. 12
Forget Bailo’s, the long-gone tavern in Buffalo, New York’s east side at the corner of Bailey and Love Joy, and head to the corner of E. Paces Ferry and Maple for Aria chef Gerry Klaskala's beef on weck pop-up on Thursday, Oct. 12.
"As a kid growing up in Buffalo, NY, there was that thrill of going out for beef on weck. And if we were going, we were going to Bailo’s, the long-gone tavern in Buffalo, New York’s east side at the corner of Bailey and Love Joy," - Chef Gerry Klaskala.
Aria's beef on weck sandwich features sliced, tender roast beef piled high on a kummelweck roll with beef jus and horseradish. A ‘weck’ roll is a type of Kaiser roll, topped with caraway seeds and coarse salt. Aria's take on this traditional Buffalo sandwich is served with steak fried potatoes and a kosher dill pickle for $22.
Aria’s one-day-only beef on weck is available in the bar from 5-5:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 for dine in only. Quantities are limited, so mark your calendars and make your reservation early!
