Spring Forward: Planning and Prepping Your Summer Garden

Join farmer Joe Reynolds of Love is Love Farm at Gaia Gardens and special farmer guests, including members of the Love is Love Farm crew, for a live educational and interactive webinar to gain the knowledge and skills you need to prepare for a bountiful summer growing season in your own backyard!

We’ll take a deep dive into growing organically by covering topics including planning your space & plant selection, soil management, bed preparation & spacing, seed starting vs. transplants, planting and maintenance, organic pest control, harvesting techniques, and seasonal transitions for your home garden. The format of the event will include live demonstrations from the farm along with discussion and Q&A.

In addition to hearing from Joe, attendees will hear from Laura Diaz-VillaquiranFoodCorps AmeriCorps Service Member, who will be modeling how to engage children in your garden prep. Laura will share how to create seed tapes and how to transplant lavender with the help of little ones.

As you prepare for your summer garden, please check out the Good Food Guide for plant sales hosted by Georgia Organics Farmer Members in your area! Including the Love is Love Farm annual plant sale.
