Thai New Year Dinner at Nan Thai Buckhead

Nan Thai Buckhead invites guests to celebrate Thai New Year, also known as Songkran, with a special one-night-only prix-fixe menu on Monday, April 14. In addition to the restaurant’s acclaimed regular menu, chef/owner DeeDee Niyomkul is offering a festive dining experience and culinary journey through the diverse regions of Thailand that highlights authentic ingredients, flavors and traditions.

Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year, is celebrated annually in mid-April and marks a time of renewal, reflection and joyful festivities. Known for its vibrant water festivals, Songkran also honors family traditions, the paying of respects to elders and the offering of food to monks. Food plays a central role in the celebration, with regional dishes showcasing the rich diversity of Thailand’s culinary heritage.

The prix-fixe menu costs $75 per person. The a la carte menu is also available. Reservations can be made via OpenTable

Northern Thai-style beef jerky and sticky rice

Pork chili tomato relish chili dip served with pork cracklings, sticky rice and an assortment of vegetables

Tom Saap (Northeast)

Lemongrass, kaffir lime spicy pork rib broth

Som Tum Pue (Central)

Savory green papaya salad with lump crab meat

Third Course Choices

Crying Tiger (Northeastern)

Rib-eye with tamarind chili-lime dipping sauce

Khao Soi Kai (North)

Duck Confit with Thai egg noodle soup in a yellow curry broth, topped with crispy fried noodles, onions, cabbage and pickled mustard greens

or

Pla Kra Pong (Southern)

Crispy red snapper with chili, lime and cilantro sauce
