Zunzi’s, the fast casual restaurant known for its South African-inspired sandwiches, bowls and salads is hosting its next Zunzifest! on Tuesday, April 12. During this one-of-a-kind event, members of Zunzi’s text community are invited to show up at Zunzi’s to receive a free regular Conquistador or Rising Sun sandwich (vegan upon request) from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. This month, Zunzi’s is donating 26% of sales to World Central Kitchen.
“During our April Zunzifest!, we’re raising funds for an chef José Andrés’ nonprofit that’s most recently been on the frontlines at the Ukrainian border, providing meals in response to the humanitarian crisis there,” says Zunzi’s owner Chris Smith. “Zunzifest! is always one of my favorite parts of the month because we get to give back to our community by providing free sandwiches, show our team some love and raise money for an amazing cause.”
To join Zunzi’s text community and receive a link for details about the event, text “Zunzifest!” to 912-207-7551. On top of serving free Conquistador and Rising Sun sandwiches, Zunzi’s will once again be closing early at 5 p.m. to throw a special “thank you” party for Zunzi’s team.
Traditionally, Zunzifest! was held on the 26th day of each month, in honor of Z, the 26th letter of the alphabet. Going forward, Zunzifest! takes place on the second Tuesday of the month to avoid November and December holidays so Zunzi’s can say THANK YOU! to team, fans and community every month.

ABOUT ZUNZI’S + ZUNZIBAR
Zunzi's first opened its doors in 2005 with the sole purpose of filling the tummies of college students at the Savannah College of Art & Design with home-cooked meals. Since then, Zunzi's South African-inspired menu has won the hearts of not only SCAD students but also locals and tourists visiting Savannah. By popular demand, Zunzi's expanded to Atlanta, Georgia, and opened a second location in May 2018. In 2021, Zunzi’s relocated its original Savannah location and added Zunzibar, its sister beach-bar concept. Zunzi's + Zunzibar is now focused on further expansion by franchising the hybrid concept in the Southeast. In 2020, Zunzi’s co-founder Chris Smith was named among QSR’s “15 Young Restaurant Leaders to Watch.” In 2019, Zunzi’s landed on Thrillist’s compilation of “The 33 Best Sandwiches in America,” and the eatery’s Conquistador was named the best sandwich in Georgia on People magazine’s “Best Sandwich in Every State” list. In 2017, Zunzi’s secured a spot on Mental Floss’ list of “The Best Sandwiches in all 50 States” and BuzzFeed’s “34 Meals That are Actually Worth Traveling the World For.” Zagat also rated the Savannah location’s food a 4.6/5. The Conquistador was ranked among Men’s Journal’s “50 Best Sandwiches in America,” in 2015 and “Best Sandwich in the South” by Travel Channel’s Adam Richman in 2012.
