Grab a bike and get ready for one of the most spirited gatherings in the city this holiday season: Atkins Park’s 17th annual Santa Ride in honor of longtime Atlanta restaurateur Warren Bruno. On Sunday, Dec. 17, cyclists are invited to grab their bikes, bedazzle them with lights, don their most elaborate holiday costumes and immerse themselves in the infectious holiday spirit. The more glittering lights on bikes, the better; the louder the holiday music, the merrier! Guests should plan to gather at 4:30 p.m. The 11-mile journey then kicks off from Atkins Park at 5 p.m. before winding through the heart of Atlanta, encompassing neighborhoods such as the Highlands, Inman Park, downtown, Midtown, Ansley Park and Piedmont Park, with a couple of stops along the way for special holiday cheer.
This annual charitable event not only spreads joy but also raises funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Participants are encouraged to consider making a charitable contribution of $25 or more to support the nonprofit’s ongoing efforts in the fight against blood cancers, and all contributions will go toward this mission and will be dedicated to Bruno’s memory. Learn more about the Santa Ride on Facebook; donations can be made in advance on the fundraising page.
