Chef Kevin Gillespie Partners with “Meals of Love” for Families in Need

Atlanta Public Schools (APS) superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen has collaborated with local nonprofit organization I’m a Father F1rst to create the “Meals of Love” initiative, which provides access to nutritious, chef-prepared meals for APS families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Kevin Gillespie, the chef behind Atlanta’s Red Beard Restaurants and star of Bravo series “Top Chef,” is lending his culinary and hospitality skills to the cause by preparing dinners in support of student nutrition. Thanks to partnerships with restaurateurs like Gillespie and a $1 million financial donation from Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler and her husband Jeff Sprecher, a total of 700 families per day will now enjoy a hot meal.
