Howlin' Willy's Brings the Heat for National Chicken Tender Day on July 27

Howlin' Willy's chicken tenders

Saturday, July 27 is National Chicken Tender Day, and to mark the occasion Howlin’ Willy’s Hot Chicken, the hot chicken concept created by Willy’s Mexicana Grill founder Willy Bitter and inspired by the hot fried chicken restaurants of Nashville, is serving its popular 3-tender plate for half price.

The 3-tender plate features three freshly made chicken tenders, which boast a unique combination of heat and zest thanks to the use of various chili peppers to create a flavor profile beyond jalapeños and cayenne pepper. Each plate comes with pickles, a slice of bread, one sauce and a choice of side: crinkle cut fries, mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw or Ultimate fries (covered in bacon bits and melted cheese for an upcharge of $1.50). Guests can also choose a heat level ranging from Not Hot to Kinda’ Hot, Sweet Heat, Willy Hot and Howlin’. This special is available at all four Howlin’ Willy’s locations: Piedmont Park, Druid Hills, East Cobb and Hapeville.

In addition, fans of Howlin’ Willy’s and Nashville hot chicken are invited to take part in a Beat the Heat Challenge at the East Cobb Howlin’ Willy’s location. Participants who finish eating one Howlin’ Heat tender per round without a drink or dipping sauces for three rounds will earn a prize and a well-deserved spot on the Howlin’ Wall of Flame, where their photo will be posted for all to see. There are two challenges, at 11:30 and 11:50 a.m., and each challenge is limited to 10 participants. Those interested in testing their endurance can sign up here.
