Johns Creek Restaurant Serves the Spirit of Sankranti Every Day
With its authentic ambiance and cuisine, Sankranti in Johns Creek invites guests to step into a transportive experience, right in their neighborhood. Steeped in warm hospitality like visiting family in the South of India, Sankranti has elegant decor evocative of a Karaikudi home. Traditional furnishings imported from India and aromatic regional dishes from India make this a destination dining experience. Elaborately carved wooden doors welcome guests into the dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Sankranti, a festival of foods, is a three-day event where everyone in India gathers to celebrate harvest, abundance and prosperity. The team at Sankranti recreates this bountiful celebration of foods in the Johns Creek community. It is an authentic experience with lavish classic dishes like kaju paneer biryani (basmati rice cooked with spices and topped with cooked cottage cheese chunks with Indian spices and herbs and served with yogurt raita), karapodi chicken (fried chicken tossed in an authentic powder made with different aromatic spices) and goat pulav (a signature dish cooked with aromatic basmati rice, mutton, fried chilies, yogurt, coconut milk, mint, butter and a cluster of Indian spices).
At Sankranti, everyone is in a celebratory mood, and the food is prepared with care and love. Guests can expect platters of warm peshwari naan (fluffy naan bread stuffed with nuts, raisins and dry fruits) and tandoori shrimp (shrimp marinated with yogurt, herbs and Indian spices and grilled in a tandoor oven). Desserts top off the experience with options such as custard payasam and traditional mango lassi. Guests can appreciate this warm spirit and comforting foods whenever they visit Sankranti.
"We strive to bring this warmth and love of good food to the dining experience," says Kavitha Nimmagadda, Sankranti’s owner. "Relaxing, elegant and so convenient, we provide a world-class Indian experience right here in Johns Creek, somewhere guests can visit easily and often with exceptional service. This is our goal."
Sankranti is open Tuesday-Thursday serving lunch and dinner and Friday-Sunday serving breakfast and lunch buffets and a la carte dinner. Make reservations online.
