Summerhill Hosts Exciting Events and Festive Food Specials this April
April is all about new beginnings, and Summerhill is providing plenty of seasonal dishes and learning opportunities for guests to experience this spring. Home to some of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants, purveyors, creative retailers and small businesses, Georgia Avenue in Summerhill is excited to announce the following April features:
Halfway Crooks Beer is hosting its annual Kölschfest on April 16 and 17 in the Biergarten. A celebration of the beer and culture of Cologne, Germany, the event kicks off with a 5K fun run and showcases Farina, the brewery’s Kölsch-inspired top fermenting lager. Attendees also will enjoy authentic Kölsch-style service, food pop-ups and commemorative merchandise. Click here for more information and to register for the 5 K’s for Kölsch Race.
Just in time for temperatures to start warming up, How Crispy Express is adding a cold and crunchy fried chicken salad with celery and red onion to its Atlanta-style chicken selection. The restaurant also is extending operating hours to include Sundays, and its menu is available for delivery and pick-up through DoorDash.
No matter how you slice it, April is delicious at Junior's Pizza, where the pizza of the month is The Return of the Mack (double beef, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, topped with sesame seeds). A vegetarian version of The Return of the Mack also is available.
Little Tart Bakeshop knows how to sweeten up spring with seasonal iced sablé cookies in the shape of Easter eggs and SweetTart Sparklers (raspberry vanilla lemon syrup mixed with sparkling water and espresso and dusted with raspberry powder) to wash them down.
Maepole is launching a new menu featuring spring flavors from bud to blossom for a healthy, wholesome and quick meal. Seasonal side dishes now include a pea salad with cucumber, radish and marinated onion and shaved Brussels sprouts with carrot and sesame. Tamari-marinated tofu with nutritional yeast is a new protein option, and salsa verde is the first addition to the lineup of sauces. For those not wanting to build their own bowl, new chef’s selections feature Camellia (quinoa, pea salad, broccoli, chicken and buttermilk), Spring Salad (super greens, shaved Brussels, broccoli, pea salad, half avocado, salsa verde and crunchies) and Low Country (brown rice, hoppin’ John salad, braised greens, tofu and turmeric-ginger vin).
