Wild Heaven Beer Launches Full Plates, Full Hearts Beer to Benefit Second Helpings Atlanta

Second Helpings Atlanta (SHA), the city’s only nonprofit dedicated to driving fresh, surplus food from grocers, restaurants and stadiums to hunger relief agencies, will benefit from sales of Wild Heaven Beer’s special, small-batch Double IPA called Full Plates, Full Hearts in November. With 1 in 7 children and 1 in 9 adults in Metro Atlanta experiencing food insecurity, this partnership will ensure that SHA can continue to get food to those who need it the most.

“Partnering with Wild Heaven Beer will help us reach a broad, new audience that is locally focused and community minded,” said Andrea Jaron, executive director of SHA. “When 25% of Atlantans still don’t live within a half-mile of fresh food, creative fundraisers like this play a key role in our mission to tackle food insecurity.”

Full Plates Full Hearts is an Irish whiskey-aged Double IPA brewed with Citra, Lotus and Talus hops. The community can raise a glass to this launch at a kick-off party on Friday, November 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wild Heaven West End with food and beer.

Since its inception, SHA has rescued more than 19 Million pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 16.7 Million meals. With a community of over 300 volunteers, SHA serves as the link between its network of food donors and partner agencies who feed the hungry on a daily basis. In addition to tackling food insecurity, the organization diverts the food from landfills, making Atlanta more environmentally responsible.
