Wild Wing Cafe Honors Local Veterans at Grand Re-Opening Celebration in McDonough Nov. 12

Wild Wing Cafe, America’s leading authority on chicken wings and savory, spicy sauces, is set to re-open its McDonough location (36 Mill Rd, McDonough, GA 30253) on Thursday, Nov. 12. To mark the occasion, McDonough Mayor Billy Copeland will lead a ribbon cutting and sauce the first wings served to local veterans at 11 a.m.

“We want to thank our veterans for their service. Veterans Day on Wednesday reminds us to recognize the brave men and women who have given so much for our country,” says Wild Wing Cafe CEO Steve Weigel. “At Wild Wing Cafe, we want to honor our soldiers every day – whether that’s through designated parking or a complimentary meal. We are forever grateful to these heroes.”

The McDonough Wild Wing Cafe is re-opening better than ever since closing in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant has been reimagined with comfortable outdoor seating, a state-of-the-art display kitchen, over 40 big screen TVs, and a dual bar and stage for live entertainment, along with new safety measures and enhancements to keep both guests and staff safe.

“We are thrilled to return this restaurant to operation, to employ so many McDonough residents, and to have the opportunity to deliver our special brand of Southern hospitality,” said Weigel. “We have deployed a first-class leadership team, led by our managing partner, Will Lanier, and passionate employees to deliver the Wild Wing experience in McDonough.”

The restaurant will offer dine-in, takeout and delivery upon re-opening. Guests can conveniently order takeout or delivery through the Wild Wing Cafe mobile app or website. Loyal fans can also expect great deals including the “Endless Wings” lunch offering and numerous to-go special packages for family dinners, lunch meetings and sports at home. The famous “Friday Night Lights” series will also return adding live music to the experience.

With sports back in action, the team at Wild Wing Cafe is ready to re-open and offer fans their signature wings, cold beer and access to every game. In fact, Wild Wing Cafe was born out of a Super Bowl party 30 years ago. Wings were always the first thing to disappear at the founder’s annual party in Hilton Head, S.C.

COVID-19 health and safety procedures will be strictly enforced including daily staff temperature checks, required masks and readily available hand sanitizer. The restaurant will employ a number of other preventative measures including the separation of tables, thorough cleaning of every space after use and cleaning the entire restaurant every 30 minutes with proven chemicals.
