Gypsy Kitchen and The Southern Gentleman Reopen Following HVAC and Design Upgrades
After briefly closing in January for essential HVAC system upgrades, Gypsy Kitchen and The Southern Gentleman have reopened. Gypsy Kitchen’s reopening also unveils a fresher, lighter look with notable design improvements that create a more inviting and contemporary atmosphere for patrons to enjoy.
The January hiatuses for both restaurants allowed for replacing and modernizing the HVAC systems, which will ensure more comfortable and climate-controlled environments, particularly during warmer months. Kim Fong, Southern Proper Hospitality Group’s director of art and style, seized the opportunity to update Gypsy Kitchen’s interior design as well, brightening the color palette and freshening the look and feel with softer, more feminine touches.
“Our team has spent the past few weeks immersed in a design refresh for Gypsy Kitchen,” says Chris Hadermann, Southern Proper Hospitality Group managing partner and CEO. “While it was a small window of time, that focused attention will have a significant impact on the atmosphere and guest experience.”
New design elements and décor include vintage artwork and family photos displayed on a growing collage wall, antique mirrors, light fixtures and modernized textiles such as wallpaper and drapery that signal a lighter, more subtle take on the gypsy aesthetic.
“Just like the beautiful collections of a well-traveled gypsy, the details of our design will continue to develop and evolve,” adds Fong.
