Spend the Summer at Sankranti Indian Kitchen
Even though the summer travel season has picked up, intrepid travelers don’t have to visit India to experience traditional Indian cuisine. The welcoming, fast casual restaurant Sankranti Indian Kitchen offers the varied flavors of India in metro Atlanta.
Sankranti (pronounced sum-kraanthi, which translates to “positive change” in Sanskrit), serves healthy menu options representing both the northern and southern regions of India, cooked with the utmost care. Owner and restaurateur Srinivasa “Nimms” Nimmagadda has created a new brand of Indian menu items that highlight authentic flavors and techniques. Guests may visit Sankranti multiple times and discover new favorites, much like taking a tour of the whole country of India.
“In India, we look forward to a three-day harvest festival called Sankranti centered around food, family and prosperity,” says Nimmagadda. “The inspiration for our restaurant comes from these traditions that share our unique culture and food.”
Guests can experience the warmth of Sankranti Indian Kitchen with exciting menu items including:
Exotic mango chicken, a mild and flavorful curry
Dal panchratna, a tantalizing concoction of lentils, chiles and spices
Homemade mango lassis and signature rose milk, a refreshing touch to any meal
Two kinds of exotic rice, pulao (fragrant basmati rice with aromatic spices) and jeera (basmati, cumin and fragrant spices)
Paratha, an Indian flatbread made in many homes, is a perfect choice to experience a local Indian favorite
With options for a bowl, roll or salad, guests can truly customize their escape to India and discover all the flavors and scents of the country. Ghee, or clarified butter, considered a superfood, and turmeric, long known to have nutritional value, are used in every dish. Guests can savor their favorite Indian dishes or, just like on vacation, try something new and unexpected.
