The Cook’s Warehouse, Atlanta’s award-winning gourmet retailer and cooking school, is excited to celebrate 30 years as the city’s premier source for cookware, culinary classes and demonstrations. On Friday, March 14, the store’s flagship location at 1544 Piedmont Ave. NE in Ansley Mall will host a celebration from 6-9 p.m. The party is open to all and guests are invited to stop by at any time. There will also be product demonstrations from top vendors at the store throughout the weekend.

The festivities on March 14 will include wine tastings from Sarah Pierre of 3 Parks Wine Shop, culinary demonstrations from chefs like Melissa Pelkey-Hass and Ami Dand, and product demonstrations from vendors such as Shun, Jura, Gozney, Zwilling and Made In, plus giveaways and a special anniversary sale.

“I started out wanting to sell great tools and teach customers how to cook to bring people together around the table, and even after 30 years, that mission has not changed,” says founder Mary Moore, reflecting on the evolution of her business. “Our goal is to ensure every customer leaves happier than when they came through the door and help them share that happiness with others through cooking. It’s simple, but it’s fulfilling. It’s been a very soulful journey.”

Founded by Moore in 1995, The Cook’s Warehouse now boasts a larger footprint at the flagship store, a booming e-commerce business to complement its retail offerings, customized private events and more than 350 cooking demonstrations and hands-on classes held annually at the Ansley Mall retail shop.

Moore, who began her career as a professional chef, continues to find inspiration in the community she has built and her team’s enthusiasm and energy after all these years. “We have shoppers who have been with us since the beginning, and now their children and grandchildren are learning to cook with us. I love it when customers tell me that my team knows exactly how to help them choose the right kitchen tools and create their meals. Being a part of this big community and providing a solution to people looking for fun in their lives feels really good,” she adds.

Known as a trailblazer for offering exceptional international brands both in the early days and continuing to this day, that have since become household names, Moore was one of the first retailers in the United States to carry Jura coffee machines and Shun knives. “The gear we sell has evolved, and we still carry many of the same incredible brands that we always have like Le Creuset, Wüsthof and All-Clad.”

Moore’s pleased with the tremendous growth retail sales and her cooking school have experienced over the past few years with the return to in-person classes, parties and corporate team-building events. She’s seeing customers’ passion for food and cooking continuing to grow and is enjoying meeting that need.

“We are always on the hunt to find the latest and greatest tools and gadgets–some things never change! But we carry a much larger tabletop and barware assortment now, and our online inventory is always growing so we can bring our offerings to the rest of the country,” she adds excitedly, having just returned from the Start of the Year show at Atlanta Market and The Inspired Home Show in Chicago.

As for the next 30 years, Moore is excited about how the new pedestrian bridge off the Atlanta Beltline’s Northeast Trail will allow The Cook’s Warehouse to engage with the community in a new way. She looks forward to renovating the front of the store and adding grab-and-go offerings to meet new consumer demands.

The Cook’s Warehouse is located at 1544 Piedmont Ave. NE, Suite #403-R in Atlanta. For more information and a calendar of events, visit cookswarehouse.com or call 404-815-4993.
