New Zunzi's “86/26 from 2-6” Promotion Offers Discount to Restaurant Industry Employees
Zunzi’s, a favorite spot for South African-inspired fare in Atlanta and Savannah, is showing its love for restaurant industry employees during “86/26 from 2-6,” a new promotion providing a 26% discount on all orders from 2-6 p.m. during March and April.
“Restaurant industry employees are some of the hardest workers we know and among the hardest hit during the pandemic,” says Chris Smith, owner of Zunzi’s. “Since we provide free meals to our employees, we wanted to share a little bit of the love we give our team with other restaurant employees.”
Restaurant industry employees can take advantage of the offer for dine-in only (no online, catering or delivery orders) by showing a check stub, uniform or other proof of employment in the food and beverage industry.
The number 86 indicates being out of or removing something, particularly in the restaurant industry. Since most restaurant employees work during lunch and dinner, Zunzi’s is 86’ing 26% off the bill from 2-6 p.m. so workers can get a meal between shifts. Both the discount percentage and time frame are the numbers 2 and 6 in honor of Zunzi’s lucky number and the letter Z, the 26th letter of the alphabet.
