Atlanta Restaurants Invite Guests to Get Spooky this Halloween

Several of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants are ready to bewitch the night with ghoulish events. From costume contests to drink specials and music, there is plenty to enrich the night with eerie activities.

  • Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar in Virginia-Highland continues its thrilling Halloween traditions with a pumpkin carving contest on Thursday, Oct. 27. Starting at 7 p.m., guests will compete to win prizes including an Atkins Park gift card and enjoy plenty of beer drinking and scary movies. The frightful fun continues on Saturday, Oct. 29 with Atkins Park’s annual costume contest. A DJ starts spinning terrifying tunes at 9 p.m. followed by the costume contest where the winner walks away with a $100 cash prize.

  • Visit Virtue Rooftop atop 5Church Midtown for the Annual Rooftop Halloween Party. On Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9 p.m.-2 a.m., guests 21 and over are invited to enjoy haunting beats from DJ Sed The Saint and live entertainment. The Halloween celebration spreads from the ballroom dance floor to the covered rooftop sunroom and exposed rooftop patio. With access to multiple bars, valet or self-parking, professional photography and on-site security, 5Church has curated the ultimate fright night. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online. Upon entrance, guests will be welcomed with a ghostly cocktail. Virtue’s costume contest winner will receive a $500 gift card; costumes are required for entry.   • Gypsy Kitchen stirs up a witch’s brew of fun during its Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Buckhead Village eatery will serve its classic menu along with werewolf bits (shrimp and crab fritters made with Gulf shrimp, blue lump crab, charred onion aioli and grilled lemon for $22). Among the frightfully fun cocktails are Wiccan Prayer made with Ketel One, Highclere Castle gin and Lillet Rosé ($16); Day of the Dead mixing Herradura Blanco, honey, lemon, blackberry and sage ($16); and Fear the Reaper with Four Roses, Aperol, Dolin Blank and Sour AF Lemon ($16). Highlights of the evening include a DJ spinning tunes from 9 p.m.-12 a.m., a tarot card reader from 6-10 p.m. and a costume contest with a $250 Southern Proper Hospitality gift card for the winner.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 29, all HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern locations—Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Atlantic Station and Halcyon—are offering a night filled with haunting fun. The night commences at 8 p.m. with a costume contest. The first-place winner will receive a $250 gift certificate, the second-place winner will receive a spooky gift basket and the third-place winner will receive a bottle of HOBNOB bourbon. The party continues into the night with an after-hour dance party including $5 spooky shots and a DJ.
