Catherine Dill Named Executive Chef at HOBNOB Atlantic Station

HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern is proud to announce that Catherine Dill will serve as executive chef of its new Atlantic Station location when it opens in early February. Dill, who is currently executive chef at HOBNOB’s Halcyon location, is an Atlanta native whose extensive hospitality experience includes stints at Café Circa, Alon’s Bakery & Market and Bartaco.

“Coming to Atlantic Station is exciting to me because I live in the area, so I know the people,” Dill says.

“One of the main things I love about HOBNOB is that it’s very much a neighborhood-driven restaurant. Each location caters to the community it’s in, and that creates loyalty. When you come into the Halcyon location, we have tons of regulars. When you go to Brookhaven, there are tons of regulars. I’m looking forward to creating and nurturing those kinds of relationships at Atlantic Station.”

“Chef Catherine is a fantastic talent,” says Sean Yeremyan, co-owner of Big Table Restaurants. “The high level of food quality and service she’s brought to Halcyon made her the perfect choice to run the kitchen at our newest location. This will ensure that Atlantic Station becomes a true neighborhood destination.”

Dill, who was born at Emory Crawford Long Hospital, grew up in New Jersey, where she learned to cook at a young age. “I was damn near raised in a kitchen,” she says. Kevin Smallwood, her uncle, was the owner and executive chef of a restaurant called Two Fish Five Loaves. “He had me in the kitchen making roux at 12 years old,” Dill says.

When Atlantic Station opens next month, Dill says that guests can expect HOBNOB’s usual menu of tavern fare with Southern flair along with a couple of steak options, such as skirt steak with roasted poblano grits, chimichurri and crispy onion rings and herb-crusted rib-eye with garlic Parmesan smashed potatoes and creamed napa cabbage.

“The experience will be a tavern feel, where the quality of the food is fantastic, very elevated, just like at all HOBNOB locations,” she says.

As with the other HOBNOB locations in Brookhaven, Dunwoody and Halycon, HOBNOB Atlantic Station will serve lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, with weekly specials and a live DJ on Friday and Saturday evenings. The new location occupies two stories and boasts HOBNOB HIGH UP, a rooftop patio that’s available for guests 21 and older on a first-come, first-served basis.

When HOBNOB opens, Atlanta residents also will have the option to order menu items for takeout or delivery via Grubhub and Uber Eats. The restaurant is committed to the safety of its guests and staff and is following all state safety guidelines including limiting the number of people in the restaurant, requiring staff to wear masks, limiting touch points and thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces and work areas.
