The Southern Gentleman's shrimp and grits

The Southern Gentleman celebrates Southern flavors through gastropub fare, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive whiskey selection. When guests step inside, they are welcomed by touches of Southern design like seersucker window treatments, vintage plateware and an oversized portrait of Mark Twain. Guests can even pair their entrées with a Southern-inspired cocktail.

  • Gulf Shrimp and Grits – creole tomato gravy, smoked fontina white corn grits and shishito pepper relish

  • Buttermilk Fried Chicken honey-thyme gravy, collard greens and sweet potato cornbread

Fried chicken from Milton's

Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails is nestled in a restored 155-year-old farmhouse located in the historic district of Crabapple. The charming North Fulton restaurant serves contemporary Southern cuisine that utilizes fresh, local ingredients, many of which come from the restaurant’s on-site garden called Milton’s Acre. Led by executive chef Derek Dollar, the culinary team strives to put a new spin on Southern comfort foods. A few must-try selections from the menu include:

  • Fried Green Tomatoes –  chive-spiked goat cheese, herb pesto and peach chow chow

  • Southern Fried Chicken Breast – buttermilk mashed potatoes, tiny green beans and andouille red eye gravy

Marietta newcomer Cozy Coop prepares homestyle Southern staples in an enhanced quick-service concept centered around its famous fried chicken. In addition to chicken, Cozy Coop has perfected baby-back ribs and a variety of sides including cornbread, candied yams, fried okra and collard greens.

A great stop for National Southern Food Day, Cozy Coop will be giving away a free chicken drumstick and a slice of cornbread to every customer from 12-4 p.m. on Jan. 22. Guests must mention National Southern Food Day when placing orders. This offer is for dine-in only.
