The Southern Gentleman Charms Guests with New Springtime Menus, Cocktails and Happy Hour
Springtime in the South brings beauty to every corner, with azaleas and dogwoods blooming and the promise of brighter days ahead. In the kitchen at The Southern Gentleman, springtime means executive chef Cole Pate and his team are adding more farm-fresh, local ingredients and lighter, vegetable-forward plates to the menu for dinner and weekend brunch. Together with a new lineup of cocktails and a happy hour to make the most of sun-drenched afternoons, Buckhead’s Southern-inspired gastropub is the place to be this spring.
“We are shaking off winter and bringing a lighter, more refined Southern cuisine to the forefront for spring,” says Pate. “As a chef, I love the opportunity to play with the freshest fruits and vegetables our local farmers and purveyors have to offer.”
Seasonal highlights of The Southern Gentleman’s new dinner menu include:
Blistered shishito peppers with country ham, banh mi vinaigrette, shiso and lime
Blooming mushroom with spicy remoulade, cornichons, smoked paprika and roasted garlic
Country pork terrine with Pommery mustard, frisée, dill pickled green beans and sourdough
Pan-seared trout with wild mushroom and corn succotash, corn bisque and crispy basil
Spring berry tart with orange pastry cream, chamomile macerated berries, almond tuile and coconut ice cream
Brunch, served Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., features such dishes as:
Duck confit eggs Benedict with hollandaise, breakfast potatoes, pickled red onions and mixed greens
Brioche French toast with macerated berries, lemon curd, powdered sugar and whipped cream
Spring pea omelette with asparagus, Gruyère and Parmesan
Royal Red shrimp gnocchi with Old Bay, cream of carrot and shaved carrot salad
New, refreshing cocktails also have arrived on the menu just in time for spring’s warmer weather. They include:
Joropo Sour with rum, oleo, cherry, lemon and lime
Sweet Carrousel with gin, orgeat, cranberry, lemon and pineapple
Don’t be such a Square with rye, luxardo maraschino, dry vermouth and yellow chartreuse
Divine Glance with Irish whiskey, amaretto, peat and lemon
The menus are not the only things getting a spring refresh. The Buckhead dining destination has debuted a weekday happy hour, so guests can imbibe in some liquid sunshine every Monday-Friday from 4-6 pm. It’s the perfect stop for $5 featured cocktails, $1 oysters and bar bites such as pimento cheese fries or wagyu beef burger.
“Whether you’re winding down after a long day or just getting the evening’s adventures started, we welcome guests to pull up a chair and enjoy snacks, cocktails and our classic Southern hospitality,” adds Pate.
To ensure the health and safety of its guests and staff, The Southern Gentleman is following strict safety guidelines and has implemented safety precautions recommended by local, state and federal governments, as well as the CDC.
