Cinco de Mayo Celebrations Heat Up at Atlanta Restaurants
Cinco de Mayo is more than just a date on the calendar — it’s a vibrant celebration of culture, community and cuisine. This year, Atlanta restaurants are embracing the spirit of the holiday with festive specials, high-energy entertainment and creative menus that keep the party going all weekend long. Whether in the mood for live music, oversized margaritas or unexpected surprises, these dining destinations are ready to turn up the flavor and the fun.
Buena Vida Tapas Bar brings the beats and bold flavors to the celebration with live music and standout specials on both drinks and dishes. From Friday, May 2 through Monday, May 5, guests can sip on a curated list of festive cocktails, including the BV margarita with El Jimador ($12), paloma with Ocho Blanco ($13) and a spicy margarita made with Tanteo Jalapeño and habanero ($14). Other creative options include passionfruit and strawberry margaritas, both made with Herradura Blanco and fresh, tropical ingredients ($14). Buena Vida’s premium margarita featuring Herradura Blanco will be available for just $12, normally priced at $15. Guests can pair drinks with Cinco-inspired food specials like the nachos trio with salsa, guacamole and queso ($20), chipotle potatoes with chorizo ($16) and steak tacos ($19). A Latin band performs Saturday from 6-9 p.m.
Chichería Mexican Kitchen is going all out with a four-day fiesta filled with food, flair and festivities. Starting Friday, May 2, guests can kick off the celebration with limited-edition 16-ounce margaritas served in festive souvenir pineapple cups ($18, available all weekend while supplies last) and enjoy a DJ energizing the bar scene. On Saturday, May 3, the party continues with live music on the patio and face painters during the day to keep families entertained. Sunday, May 4, also features face painters to add some festive flair. The grand finale on Monday, May 5, features food and drink specials in addition to the 16-ounce margaritas available in all flavors. Highlights include Herradura Blanco shots ($8), beer and shot combo ($10, Dos Equis draft and El Jimador Blanco), gourmet taco plates ($17-$23), shareables such as Tres Playas ($20, a trio of chips and dips), carne asada fries ($13), snapper and coconut ceviche, chorizo smash burger ($16) and more. Chido & Padre’s is celebrating Cinco de Mayo all weekend, culminating with the main fiesta on Monday, May 5. The epic celebration on Monday boasts El Jimador margaritas ($10), a DJ and the hottest patio in Buckhead. Reservations can be made via OpenTable.
HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern is hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration at all locations from May 3–5, kicking off each day at 2 p.m. Guests can enjoy taco specials, Cinco nachos and $7 margaritas. At HOBNOB Halcyon, the festivities get even bigger with a festive Party on the Green in collaboration with neighboring Eclipse di Luna. Beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, the event features a pig roast al pastor, classic cantaritos and live entertainment—all in a lively outdoor setting perfect for toasting the weekend away. Tin Lizzy’s Cantina keeps the party going for three straight days of Cinco de Mayo fun, May 3-5. Known for its come-as-you-are vibe, Tin Lizzy’s is serving Dos Equis drafts ($4), Herradura margaritas ($8) and Tecate cans ($4) at all locations throughout the weekend. The celebration peaks on Monday, May 5, when DJs spin tunes at every location starting at 6 p.m. Tin Lizzy’s opens at 11 a.m. daily for those looking to get an early start to the celebration.
