Atlanta Restaurants Bring Out the Olé for Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo is a popular holiday celebrated on May 5 every year to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. In Atlanta, many restaurants and bars offer specials and celebrations to mark the occasion. From authentic Mexican cuisine to creative cocktails, there's something for everyone. Whether looking to indulge in a delicious margarita or try some spicy salsa, Atlanta's Cinco de Mayo celebrations are not to be missed.
For the most happening fiesta in Buckhead, guests can head to Chido & Padre’s. The lively eatery will open at 2 p.m. on May 5 and stay open late serving its menu of authentic Mexican dishes along with drink features. A DJ amps up the fun from 6-10 p.m. Make reservations online.
HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern at Halcyon in Alpharetta is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a party at its patio bar. Starting at 6:30 p.m. rain or shine, guests will enjoy festive dancing to the Latin seven-piece band “Catalina Sabrosa” and margaritas and taco specials. For those who keep glasses raised, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina celebrates for five days with Cinco Days of Cinco. From May 3-7, all locations are offering $7 El Jimador margaritas and 32-ounce Dos Equis drafts for $7. Guests can take the fiesta home with to-go orders placed online.
Instead of the traditional Cinco de Mayo celebration, Your 3rd Spot kicks off the festivities early with Tres de Mayo. From 5-10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, the West Midtown dining and gaming experience will celebrate with street tacos, margarita features and Tr33quila.
