Celebrate Mother's Day Around Atlanta

Mom’s special day is fast approaching, and Atlanta area restaurants are ready to help guests honor her with dine-in and takeout options on Sunday, May 9. From brunch to take-home meals, these dining options are sure to make for a memorable Mother’s Day.

Dine-in Options

  • Treat mom to something special this Mother’s Day at 5Church Atlanta. Guests are invited to enjoy chef Mark Alba’s delicious sunrise (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) and sunset (4-8 p.m.) Mother’s Day buffets with server-attended stations. Brunch highlights include seared Scottish salmon with creamed spinach, an omelet station and fried chicken with cayenne honey. Among the dinner features are prime rib with veal jus, baked ziti pasta, seared crab cakes and bacon-braised collard greens. Cost is $45 for adults and $20 for children, and reservations can be made online. To ensure a safe and comfortable Mother’s Day experience, all guests will be temperature checked upon arrival, and masks will be required unless seated at a table.

  • Normally closed on Sundays, Aria is opening especially for mom to offer a delicious meal in an elegant setting on Mother’s Day. The Buckhead restaurant welcomes guests starting at 5 p.m. and will be serving its regular menu in the dining room and a special wine pack for takeout. Make reservations online.

  • Brunch is always a great idea, and Carson Kitchen in Alpharetta’s City Center knows exactly how to do Mother’s Day brunch. Enjoy favorites like avocado toast, shrimp and grits and sopaipilla French toast alongside a signature brunch drink menu.

  • Gypsy Kitchen in Buckhead Village has a full day of food and fun for Mother’s Day. In addition to its regular menu, Gypsy Kitchen chef features include peekytoe crab Louie with butter lettuce, French beans, soft-boiled eggs, chervil and summer citronette; sorghum-glazed pork belly with white corn johnny cake, poached eggs, home fries and tasso ham Bearnaise; White Lily biscuits with house-made accoutrements; and ricotta cardamom fritters with orange blossom honey syrup and toasted pistachios.   • If celebrating with Mother’s Day in Athens, show mom how much you appreciate her with brunch at Heirloom Café. Menu highlights include Love on a Biscuit with two poached eggs on a buttermilk biscuit with veggie black bean chilli, sour cream and green onion; chicken salad sandwich with smoked chicken, pecans, celery, cranberries and Duke’s mayonnaise on Luna wheat with a choice of side; and French toast with condensed milk and berry compote.   • For a taste of land and sea, plan on Mother’s Day brunch at Ocean & Acre. In addition to its classic brunch menu, the Alpharetta restaurant will have features including lobster-shrimp Louie with local lettuces, soft-boiled egg, avocado, pickled tomato, asparagus and herb dressing; watermelon gazpacho with lump crab and heirloom tomato salad; and ricotta lemon fritters with roasted strawberry sauce and toasted Oregon hazelnuts.   • Take mom on a beach getaway to The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill in the heart of Buckhead. In addition to the classic menu, guests can savor chef features such as watermelon gazpacho with lump crab and heirloom tomato salad and roasted beet tartar with whipped goat cheese, house-smoked sea scallops, horseradish vinaigrette, crunchy citrus crouton and watercress.   • The Southern Gentleman has planned a specially curated a la carte menu of brunch and dinner favorites along with specials that mom is sure to love. Highlights include avocado deviled eggs, duck confit eggs Benedict, brioche French toast, hot chicken sandwich, wagyu skirt steak frites, butter-poached lobster tail and sweet endings of chocolate bombe, spring berry tart and orange and grapefruit upside-down cake. Takeout Options

  • Celebrate mom at home with 5Church Atlanta’s Mother’s Day takeout family package. With options serving two, four and eight people and reheating instructions included, the whole family will be impressed with items such as romaine Caesar salad, prime rib with veal jus, honey-baked ham with grain mustard aioli, shrimp creole and steam rice, whipped potatoes, bacon-braised collard greens, roasted vegetable cous cous and bourbon bread pudding for dessert. Place orders online at least 48 hours in advance of Mother’s Day. Pick-up is on Sunday, May 9 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Costs are $80 for a two-person package, $160 for a four-person package and $320 for an eight-person package.

  • Southern Belle is offering a special take home and finish meal for Mother’s Day. The meal includes a salad of local arugula with Decimal Place goat cheese, Georgia blueberries, fennel, toasted pecans and creamy blueberry dressing; asparagus and lobster risotto with English peas, Parmesan and watercress; and Carolina flounder en papillote with a medley of spring vegetables, potatoes, green goddess compound butter, white wine and herbs. Cost is $59 per person with a $10 mac and cheese add-on for the kids. Meals can be picked up Thursday-Saturday between 5-6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon-2 p.m.
